How to Attach a Plinth to an Acrylic Tub

Pedestal tubs elevate any bathroom, both in style and in function. If you’re attaching the pedestal, or plinth, to your acrylic tub, follow these quick, easy steps for a seamless installation.

Tools & Materials


  • Adjustable Wrench

  • Silicone Sealant (100% Neutral Cure)

  • Damp Cloth

All other required materials are included with your pedestal tub.

Plinth Installation

Step 1 - clean and dry the area of contact between the tub and the plinth on both items

Step 2 - remove hardware from the bottom of the tub if necessary (bolt caps, nuts, washers)

Step 3 - apply a bead of silicone sealant to the plinth along the area that will make contact with the tub

Step 4 - firmly place the tub onto the plinth and wipe away excess sealant with a damp cloth. Let dry for 24 hours

Step 5 - When the silicone is dry, carefully lay the tub and plinth upside down and attach the mounting brackets

Step 6 - tighten the bolts, alternating from one to another until all are secure
